Hamilton despised the mindset of these people due to their disregard for his viewpoint and assumptions to what they think is best for him. The ignorant accusing others of being ignorant. They are ultimately left up to the individual to believe or not. Ironic how they cannot see that their own “truths” are, at its core, subjective matters. Those that oppose them are “blind to the truth”. He believed the latter of these people are the equivalent to the radicals and bigots of a religion stuffing their beliefs down the throats of others. These people were the ones he loathed because despite their claims of speaking with his interest in mind, the truth is that they argue selfishly with the desire to fulfill their role of playing the “Good Samaritan”, incognizant of their own subconscious drive.

On the contrary, there’d be the ones who would completely reject his thoughts and attempt to force their perspective onto him.

Often times, he’d explain his reasoning for his perpetual work, and some would accept his argument and respect his decision. He couldn’t simply abandon his labor at an instant and command his body and mind to rest. However, Hamilton didn’t function the same manner. These people tell him to “take a break” merely because that is their reaction to when they feel pushed to their limits. Do people not understand the implications behind their words? How they translate once they reach his ears? Hamilton reminded himself that people said these out of the blind concern, them assuming his position and projecting their own personal feelings of exhaustion onto him. While they may stem from well-intended reason, they also come from a blatant ignorance.
